About the role
Overview
Dries Van Noten, a renowned Belgian fashion brand known for its distinctive approach to craft and bold eclecticism, is seeking a highly skilled Technical Patternmaker to join our creative team. This critical role will be responsible for translating design concepts into precise, production ready patterns that maintain the brand's exceptional quality and design integrity.
Responsibilities
Translate design sketches, prototypes, and existing patterns into production-ready patterns using manual techniques and CAD (Lectra)
Develop and refine base patterns and blocks for scalable use across men's and women's ready to wear collections
Create comprehensive technical files for production, including technical sheets, measurement charts, material details, and digital/printed pattern files
Actively participate in fitting sessions and translate design changes into precise pattern updates
Evaluate technical execution and quality of collection and production
Provide input and review graduations and size specifications
Launch and evaluate prototype and sample series
Adhere to critical development timelines and support collection delivery
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of experience in high fashion industry
Excellent knowledge of pattern fitting and development
Comprehensive understanding of product finishing, fabrics, and materials
Proficient in Excel and Lectra software
Thorough knowledge of tailoring and flou techniques
Strong problem solving skills
Excellent communication abilities
Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are advantageous
