Overview
Fair Resource Foundation (FRF) is seeking a passionate Policy Lead to support a groundbreaking 3.5-year European project called INTERPOOL, focused on scaling up reusable glass packaging systems. As part of an international collaboration involving producers, system managers, policy actors, and researchers from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and France, you'll play a crucial role in driving environmental and systemic change.
About the Organization
Fair Resource Foundation is an ambitious NGO with a green mission to reduce resource consumption within the Earth's ecological limits. We work on policy influence, system analysis, debate acceleration, coalition building, and research across Dutch, Belgian, and European levels. Our team of 10 is committed to making concrete environmental changes through strategic interventions.
Responsibilities
Conduct research on legislation and policy frameworks to scale reusable glass packaging systems at European, national, and regional levels
Perform interviews and engage with policymakers, business representatives, and packaging experts
Analyze quantitative and qualitative data on reuse systems
Integrate information on legal, economic, technical, and systemic parameters
Develop policy recommendations, policy notes, and comprehensive reports
Design and manage policy strategy and action plans for scaling reusable glass packaging systems
Support project organization and facilitate stakeholder workshops and meetings
Requirements
Master's degree in sustainability, transitions, public policy, economics, law, European studies, or related field
Strong affinity with environmental mission and understanding of ecological challenges
5+ years of experience in policy development and/or packaging systems
Diplomatic skills with strong international stakeholder engagement capabilities
Analytical mindset with excellent written analysis skills
Deep interest in circular economy and sustainable transitions
Excellent English proficiency
Fluency in one of Dutch, French, or German
