Global Standard Representative - Turkey & Central Asia
About the role
Overview
Global Standard is seeking a dynamic Regional Representative to drive awareness and adoption of sustainable textile standards across Turkey and Central Asia. This role is critical in promoting organic and sustainable textile practices, engaging with key industry stakeholders, and supporting the organization's mission of transforming the textile supply chain.
Responsibilities
Actively engage with textile brands, retailers, manufacturers, and suppliers to promote GOTS/GRTS certification
Organize and participate in promotional events, seminars, fairs, and webinars
Provide initial consultancy and orientation for companies seeking certification
Represent Global Standard at industry trade fairs, academic conferences, and governmental events
Liaise with policymakers, NGOs, and trade associations to advocate for sustainable textiles
Support media visibility through consumer and trade press engagement
Deliver lectures and workshops at universities, schools, and industry platforms
Raise consumer awareness about the value of sustainable textile standards
Build strong relationships across the textile value chain
Support Global Standard's global strategy by sharing regional insights
Requirements
University degree in textile management, sustainability, environmental science, or related field
5-10 years of experience in CSR, sustainability management, textile production, or certification
Strong knowledge of textile supply chains and sustainability standards
Passion for sustainable innovations and organic textiles
Excellent communication skills in Turkish and English (Russian is a plus)
Strong public speaking and networking abilities
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
