About the role
Overview
Marks & Spencer is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Assistant Designer for the Menswear Tailoring team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your career within a collaborative and fast paced design environment, supporting the design team in delivering collections that are both timely and commercially relevant.
Responsibilities
Work alongside the JD / Designer to deliver the global product direction
Meet critical path deadlines and deliver designs at the right time
Create CAD designs using Photoshop / Illustrator for range reviews and PLM tech packs
Conduct trend and market research
Develop clear and engaging visual presentations
Assist with fit sessions
Support the product development process from initial concept through to final sample
Support designers in producing high standard tech packs
Brief and specify direct design sourced products
Requirements
Strong design and CAD skills with exceptional attention to detail
Knowledge of trend interpretation and current competitive marketplace
Experience in product design and tech pack creation
High proficiency in design IT applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, CAD)
Strong multitasking abilities
Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
Understanding of knitwear construction, yarns, and techniques
