The TextielMuseum is a dynamic and creative museum where design, art, fashion, heritage, and textile innovation converge. The TextielLab is a unique space where (inter-)national designers, artists, and promising students collaborate with textile experts to explore the endless possibilities of materials and techniques.
About the Role
As a Textile Specialist, you will be an integral part of the technical team, contributing to the development of the TextielLab as a leading textile expertise and development center in Europe. You will technically guide and realize high-quality artworks for unique projects, always working in collaboration with product developers and artists.
Responsibilities
Operate textile machines, including computer controlled Dornier Jacquard weaving machines
Maintain and manage the machine park
Coordinate production activities with the team
Ensure workspace cleanliness and prepare materials for artists' arrivals
Perform preparatory tasks such as yarn twisting, spooling, and warp preparation
Enthusiastically explain machine operations and materials to visitors, artists, and designers
Requirements
Knowledge of (computer controlled) textile techniques or similar work experience
Result-oriented and customer-focused approach
Entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, and collaborative spirit
MBO 4 level education
Excellent Dutch language skills
Willingness to work weekends and holidays according to a roster
