On Senior Specialist - Footwear Tooling Engineer

Overview
At On, we are seeking a Senior Specialist Footwear Tooling Engineer to create groundbreaking concepts and products for high-performance athletes while advancing our sustainability goals. In this role, you will be a key player in shaping the future direction of our pinnacle performance product and technologies through innovation and design.
Responsibilities
Lead the bottom unit development for On's performance products
Provide solutions to design and construction constraints using extensive knowledge of materials, mold construction, and manufacturing
Evaluate and improve product designs for manufacturability and durability by reviewing 2D/3D CADs, prototypes, and testing team feedback
Ensure alignment with product specifications and manufacturing capabilities
Advise on plastics injection molding for cost, design, and molding capabilities of bottom unit components
Collaborate with Asian manufacturing partners on tooling revisions and manufacturing concerns
Support development, product management, and design teams with tooling-related questions
Evaluate current workflows and create process improvements to maximize efficiencies
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field
Minimum 5 years experience in footwear engineering, ideally in tooling development
Technical expertise in materials, mold construction, and manufacturing processes
Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (Rhino preferred)
Experience with 3D modeling and rapid prototyping tools
Strong project management and problem-solving skills
Understanding of biomechanical performance principles in footwear design
Excellent cross-functional communication and collaboration skills
