About the role

Overview

Bambaw is seeking a passionate Textile Product Developer to help expand and engineer their sustainable textile product range. If you're a textile professional who loves solving complex fabric performance challenges and creating high-quality, durable products, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full textile development lifecycle from initial concept to product launch

  • Develop textile solutions through feasibility studies, prototyping, and production readiness

  • Engineer fabric blends by selecting optimal fibers, spinning techniques, and yarn specifications

  • Define fabric constructions to meet specific performance targets

  • Conduct comprehensive textile performance testing (cooling, breathability, antibacterial properties)

  • Perform wash and durability tests including shrinkage, pilling, and tensile strength assessments

  • Align with factories on stitching standards, tolerances, and measurement specifications

  • Lead structured prototyping processes and iterate quickly with suppliers

  • Approve production samples and validate supplier readiness

  • Review customer returns and drive product improvements through root cause analysis

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years experience in textile development, garment technology, or textile engineering

  • Deep understanding of textile performance metrics

  • Expertise in developing fiber blends (viscose/cotton, bamboo/cotton, TENCEL, recycled fibers)

  • Experience working with spinners, mills, and factories on yarn and fabric engineering

  • Ability to conduct structured textile tests and translate results into specifications

  • Strong problem solving skills for textile manufacturing challenges

  • Excellent documentation skills

  • Strong communication abilities with international suppliers

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with bedding or home textiles

  • Knowledge of thermal comfort standards

  • Experience improving textile products post-launch

  • Familiarity with third-party quality inspections
