Calvin Klein is hiring a Senior Garment Technician to own technical development for a defined range of styles, covering activewear, outerwear, sweaters and loungewear for men's and women's. Based in Kowloon Bay, the role sits within the Hub team and works closely with global technical and design partners to keep fit consistent from first sample through PP approval.
Beyond hands-on fit work, this is a role with a mentoring edge. You'll share fit knowledge, quality standards and time management practices with other garment technicians, and act as the person who spots construction risk early and brings solutions rather than problems to the design table.
You'll also build the vendor relationships and SOPs that keep production reliable, working across sourcing, design and cross-functional teams to keep everyone aligned.
What you'll do
- Guide and mentor garment technicians on fit knowledge, SOPs, communication and time management
- Compile, analyze and document directional fitting comments in Centric
- Evaluate garment construction and quality to flag risk and recommend alternatives that eliminate it
- Uphold design intent across multiple base sizes from first fit through PP approval, flagging concerns early with proposed solutions
- Partner with Hub sourcing and vendors to manage sample T&A, stepping in with vendors when quick action is needed
- Create, follow and assess yearly SOPs, updating them with partners as needed
- Manage vendor accreditation training for PP and fit approval, assigning programs and styles accordingly
- Build strong relationships with vendors and cross-functional partners
- Lead communication with cross-functional teams to share knowledge and align on priorities
- Contribute to projects that define new SOPs and best practices
What you'll bring
- Diploma or above in Technical Design, Pattern Grading or equivalent
- University or engineering degree with 6 to 8 years of related experience
- Knowledge of fitting, pattern making, grading, construction and testing in related production categories
- Experience managing direct reports
- Background in swimwear, sports bra or lingerie, a bonus
- Solid working knowledge of sewing and stitch properties and overall garment detail
- Organized and detail oriented, quick to act on issues and problems
- Collaborative mindset that builds strong working relationships and team cohesion
- Excellent communication skills across teams and the wider organization
- Knowledge of live model garment fitting and the ability to instruct vendors on manufacturability
- Knowledge of the Lectra system
- Knowledge of PLM systems
- Strong MS Office skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Fluency in English
