Closed is looking for a Materials and Trims Buyer to manage the sourcing of textile components, from zippers and buttons to labels, for its denim and ready-to-wear collections. Based at the Hamburg headquarters, this is a full time, permanent position with a start date as soon as possible or by arrangement.
The role sits at the intersection of design, product development and purchasing. You'll select and grow international supplier relationships, chase down new materials, and hold the line on quality, environmental and social standards, all while keeping prices and delivery dates on track.
It suits someone who reads materials fluently, negotiates with confidence, and likes owning decisions from sourcing through to invoice.
What you'll do
- Manage the purchasing and sourcing of textile trims such as zippers, buttons and labels
- Select international suppliers, develop them further and maintain long-term partnerships
- Research new materials, oversee sampling and make independent buying decisions
- Collect quotes and lead price negotiations at an international level
- Ensure compliance with quality, environmental and social standards
- Create and maintain trims and price lists
- Collaborate closely with design, product development and purchasing
- Maintain supplier and article data in the PLM system, track delivery dates and check invoices
What you'll bring
- Completed degree, commercial apprenticeship or comparable qualification
- Experience in textile purchasing, ideally in trims
- Strong feel for materials and how they perform in production
- Negotiation skill and a structured, independent way of working
- Analytical thinking and a high degree of organization
- Very good English, Italian a plus
- Experience with MS Office and ideally with PLM and ERP systems
- Enjoyment of teamwork and an open, collaborative style
