Senior Designer - Menswear (Knit & Jersey)
About the role
Overview
At COS, the Senior Designer for Menswear (Knit & Jersey) plays a critical role in delivering the company's vision by leading the knitwear and jersey department. This position is responsible for building a strong, cohesive assortment that meets customer expectations while maintaining the distinctive COS aesthetic. You will drive product development, lead a team of designers, and ensure the creation of a complete, thoughtful wardrobe collection.
Responsibilities
Collaborate across design, buying, and pattern teams to align on seasonal direction, trends, and customer insights
Create and develop garment designs, focusing on draping, construction, and premium fabric selection
Build a considered collection that authentically represents the COS design aesthetic
Conduct comprehensive research for the knit & jersey department, focusing on customer trends and insights
Lead and mentor junior designers, guiding their professional development
Maintain critical path timelines and ensure efficient workflow across departments
Stay current on fashion trends and continuously enhance design quality
Requirements
Extensive experience as a senior menswear designer in knitwear & jersey categories
Bachelor's Degree in fashion design or related field
Strong luxury fashion intelligence and experience with premium fabrics
Deep technical knowledge of knitted textiles, garment construction, and fit
Excellent organizational skills with ability to delegate effectively
Proven leadership and mentoring experience
Exceptional eye for color, detail, and proportion
In-depth understanding of current and emerging fashion trends
Strong focus on sustainability and material innovation
Excellent communication skills and collaborative team player
