Hereu is looking for a Footwear & Accessories Designer to sit at the centre of its design process, in Barcelona. The role spans research, sourcing, fitting and prototyping, working directly with the founders to turn their creative direction into finished shoes and bags.
You'll lead the bags category outright, proposing new models, structures and volumes, while also shaping colour and texture direction across the footwear range each season. The job carries real technical weight too: overseeing prototypes and salesman samples, documenting fittings, and making sure design intent survives the journey to spec sheets and BOMs.
This is a hands-on role for someone ready to take ownership of a full design process, from moodboard to production line, at a brand entering a new stage of growth.
What you'll do
- Research visual concepts, art movements, architecture and global luxury trends that feed the founders' vision
- Develop moodboards, colour proposals and texture panels for each season's kickoff
- Lead the ongoing sourcing of leathers, linings, hardware and new materials
- Work with Merchandising to close the range plan, assessing technical proposals for reference balance, material feasibility and cost
- Lead and document fitting sessions with the founders and the Design Technician to evaluate fit, proportions and material behaviour
- Oversee prototypes and salesman samples, flagging any deviation before production sign-off
- Translate the founders' creative direction into sketches for new silhouettes and accessories
- Lead the design process for the bags category, proposing new models, structures and volumes
- Develop colour and texture variations on approved base silhouettes, ensuring design intent carries through to the technical team's spec sheets and BOMs
What you'll bring
- 3–5 years of experience in research, development and design of footwear, bags and leather goods at premium or contemporary luxury brands
- Degree in Fashion Design, Product Design, or demonstrable specialisation in Footwear and Leather Goods
- Strong command of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with clean digital flat sketching and image treatment
- Fluency in Spanish and English, written and spoken
- Instinctive sense for contemporary luxury design, traditional craftsmanship and Hereu's visual world
- Technical rigor and a critical eye to defend the brand's aesthetic values against commercial or production pressure
- Maturity to interpret and elevate the creative directors' ideas, with real autonomy over research, design and technical development
