About the role
Overview
At THE/STUDIO, we're seeking a visionary Fashion Creative Director to architect and launch an original in-house brand powered by our global manufacturing ecosystem. This is not a traditional design role, but a strategic Founder-in-Residence position that operates at the intersection of brand storytelling, industrial design, and supply chain innovation.
Responsibilities
Define the brand's visual identity, voice, and market positioning
Lead end-to-end design of apparel collections from mood boards to production-ready tech packs
Oversee brand storytelling across product, packaging, and digital presence
Work directly with global production partners to push boundaries of material sourcing and construction
Identify and provide feedback on manufacturing workflow friction points
Balance high-concept design with commercial realities of costing and scalability
Advise company leadership on industry trends and design innovation
Provide expert guidance to key customers on brand scaling strategies
Requirements
7+ years of experience launching a fashion brand or leading creative direction
Deep understanding of garment construction, textiles, and manufacturing processes
Proven track record of both artistic and commercial success
Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to make high-stakes decisions
Expert-level apparel knowledge
Strong communication and influencing skills
Experience translating complex manufacturing constraints into creative directions
