Fabric R&D Support Specialist
About the role
Overview
Tommy Hilfiger is seeking a detail-oriented Fabric R&D Support Specialist to play a critical role in coordinating fabric sourcing and development across our menswear, womenswear, and runway divisions. This position is central to facilitating seamless communication between design, production, and vendor teams while ensuring fabric quality and alignment with our brand's design vision.
Responsibilities
Coordinate fabric research activities, including mill appointments and trend material capture
Support seasonal fabric trend board development in alignment with design direction
Follow up with design, production, mills, and overseas offices on fabric data and delivery timelines
Review fabric yardage charts and identify potential production issues
Maintain and update Tommy Hilfiger's fabric library and archives
Systematically categorize and index fabric samples for easy accessibility
Enter and maintain accurate fabric information in databases and sample books
Coordinate packaging and shipment of fabric samples between mills and garment vendors
Schedule meetings and appointments with fabric suppliers and mills
Support Fabric Managers with special sourcing initiatives and raw material innovation projects
Requirements
College degree in fashion design, textile, or production related fields preferred
1-2+ years of experience in garment industry or fabric-related roles
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines
Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional and international teams
Proficiency in computer systems, especially Excel
Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility to adapt to changing business needs
