01 — About the role

About the role

The Pattern Cutter sits inside Tommy Hilfiger's Technical Development team, turning design direction into garments that hold up on the body. It's hands-on, technical work: developing, adapting and maintaining patterns and approved block libraries so every silhouette meets the brand's fit, quality and construction standards.

Working to the seasonal critical path, you'll support new silhouette development from first pattern through final fit, feeding technical recommendations into the process at every stage. The role rewards judgment as much as skill, knowing when an issue is straightforward and when it needs a technical lead.

02 — What you'll do

What you'll do

  • Develop, adapt and maintain patterns from design sketches, reference garments, approved blocks and technical specifications, balancing design intent with fit, construction and production feasibility
  • Maintain approved block libraries and version control, keeping patterns accurate, current and consistently applied, and recommend updates for review
  • Translate agreed seasonal design direction into pattern solutions within established fit, construction and technical standards
  • Prepare for and take part in fit sessions with Design, Merchandising and Product Development, assessing fit, balance, comfort, proportion and construction
  • Document fit decisions and comments accurately, implement agreed pattern amendments and maintain traceability across patterns, samples and product records
  • Analyze and resolve straightforward fit and pattern issues using established methods, escalating unfamiliar or higher-risk exceptions to the relevant technical lead
  • Assess the impact of pattern changes on construction, sizing, fabric behavior and supplier capability, and communicate the implications before changes are implemented
  • Partner with Product Development, Supply Chain, suppliers and Quality Assurance to communicate pattern and fit requirements and support timely corrective action across the assigned supply base
  • Maintain complete, accurate and timely records in the Product Lifecycle Management system and related pattern systems
  • Manage and reassess assigned pattern, sample and fit priorities against the seasonal critical path, flagging timing or capacity risks early
  • Support sample readiness, fit-session preparation, technical analysis and reporting across seasonal product development
03 — What you'll bring

What you'll bring

  • Degree, diploma or vocational qualification in pattern cutting, garment technology, fashion technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Hands-on experience as a creative and/or production Pattern Cutter, ideally within menswear
  • Strong working knowledge of pattern cutting, garment construction, fit and technical product development
  • Proficiency in Gerber or equivalent pattern-cutting software and working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management systems, with Browzwear or Gerber 3D experience an advantage
  • Sound technical judgment for analyzing straightforward pattern and fit issues and recognizing when to escalate
  • Clear written and spoken English, paired with a talent for building productive internal and external working relationships
  • Ability to independently organize a varied workload, adapt plans as seasonal needs shift and communicate dependencies and realistic timelines
  • Strong accuracy and data integrity, weighing design intent, product quality, timing and supplier impact
  • Alignment with PVH's values of individuality, passion, accountability, partnership and integrity
