About the role

Overview

At Tomorrowland, we believe in the power of imagination, creativity, and connection. Every detail contributes to a larger story where people from all over the world come together. To bring those stories to life in a physical and spatial way, we are looking for a Creative Activation Designer who translates concepts into immersive, large scale brand experiences within the Tomorrowland universe.

As part of the creative heart of our activations team, you will serve as the bridge between strategy and execution. Working closely with the concept team, you will transform partnership platforms and narratives into tangible festival installations that feel coherent, qualitative, and deeply rooted in the Tomorrowland aesthetic.

Responsibilities

Concept to Spatial Activation

  • Translate concepts and narratives into concrete festival installations and brand activations

  • Design spatial flow, interaction, and visitor experience

  • Convert creative ideas into visual and technical proposals

3D Design and Visualisation

  • Develop activations into high quality 3D designs

  • Create organic, imaginative forms that fit within the Tomorrowland aesthetic

  • Produce visualisations for internal and external presentations and approvals

Brand Integration

  • Translate brand identities into subtle and tasteful integrations within the Tomorrowland world

  • Maintain the balance between brand visibility and immersive storytelling

  • Bring together different brand worlds within one coherent concept

Creative Development and Refinement

  • Actively contribute to experience design, interaction, and scenography

  • Develop creative and feasible solutions within a festival context, considering scale, flow, audience, and technical requirements

  • Refine sketches and ideas into presentation-ready designs

  • Iterate based on feedback from concept, partnerships, and production teams

Requirements

You are a creative thinker with a strong sense of space, experience, and storytelling. You can effortlessly translate abstract ideas into visual and spatial designs.

  • Strong background in experience design and spatial storytelling

  • Affinity with fantasy, scenography, and immersive worlds

  • Highly experienced in 3D modelling and spatial design

  • Proficiency with tools such as Blender, Cinema4D, Rhino, SketchUp, or comparable software

  • Comfortable working with organic forms and creative structures

  • Solid understanding of branding, aesthetics, and visual balance

  • Both creative and pragmatic, with a flexible mindset

  • Comfortable with iteration, feedback, and managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong collaboration skills across concept, partnerships, and production/technical teams

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

A background in experience design, spatial design, scenography, exhibition or event design, (interior) architecture, or immersive environments is a strong fit for this role.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working within large-scale live events or festival environments

  • Familiarity with technical production constraints in outdoor or festival settings

  • Ability to communicate fluently in both Dutch and English (written and spoken)
