01 — About the role

About the role

Acne Studios is looking for a Product Developer to steer leather goods and accessories through the full development critical path, from initial design to pre-production, based at its Empoli site.

This is a hands-on role at the crossing point of design, sourcing and supplier management. You'll source and buy materials and accessories, track purchase orders, and work closely with the quality team to test raw materials from prototyping through sampling.

You'll also own product data in PLM, keep bills of materials accurate, and manage the seasonal development budget while keeping communication clear between internal teams and external suppliers.

02 — What you'll do

  • Follow the development critical path from initial design through to pre-production
  • Source, develop and buy materials and accessories while working toward sustainability targets
  • Manage and track materials, components and sample purchase orders, keeping data on pricing, lead-times, minimum quantities, surcharges and special documentation accurate
  • Partner with the quality team on testing and analysis of raw materials from prototyping through sampling
  • Comment on proto stages and communicate with suppliers on day-to-day operations
  • Enter product data into PLM and maintain accurate BOM and product-level information
  • Monitor and respect the seasonal development budget
  • Maintain balanced communication with internal departments and external suppliers to meet product requirements
03 — What you'll bring

What you'll bring

  • Academic degree in fashion or textile education
  • Minimum three years' experience in a product development role, preferably at high-end fashion brands
  • Professional knowledge of leather goods and accessories, and of technical manufacturing
  • Strong written and spoken English and Italian
  • High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with PLM, a plus
  • Good costing and negotiating skills
