At ALOHAS, we are passionate about pushing the boundaries of sneaker design. We're seeking a talented Freelance Color & Material Sneaker Designer to help create innovative, high-quality footwear that resonates with consumers and defines industry trends. This role offers flexibility and creative autonomy for a designer who thrives in a fast-paced, fashion-forward environment.
What you'll do
- Lead material and color selection for existing sneaker styles, innovating iconic designs within the seasonal Range Plan
- Autonomously prepare and update technical drawings, spec sheets, and design documentation for development and production
- Conduct research on sneaker trends, consumer behaviors, and competitors to support design innovation
- Create mood boards, material/color stories, sketches, and prototypes to visualize design concepts
- Collaborate with designers, product development, merchandising, and sourcing teams to ensure design feasibility and execution
What you'll bring
- 3+ years of experience in color and material design, preferably in the sneaker industry
- Strong portfolio demonstrating product innovation in colors and materials
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with familiarity in 3D visualization tools preferred
- Expert knowledge of material properties, sustainable options, and industry innovations
- Strong understanding of color theory, textile selection, and trend interpretation
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate remotely
- Passionate about sneaker culture, fashion, and materials innovation
