01 — About the role

About the role

As Accessories Designer at Gisou, you will build seasonal and long-standing accessories and merchandise collections. The work is trend-aware, brand-cohesive and commercially relevant, and it anchors the craft that turns a concept into a buildable, accurate product.

You define construction, hardware specifications, fit, tolerance and materials for every piece, and you take full ownership of prototype and construction reviews. You are the executional partner who turns creative direction into precise, production-ready work.

Reporting to the Creative Lead, you work closely with Merchandising, Brand Marketing and Product Development to hold seasonal timelines, meet margin goals and safeguard Gisou's quality standards and brand identity across all accessory categories.

02 — What you'll do

What you'll do

  • Lead technical development across a diverse range of soft and hard accessories, from bags and hair accessories to sweaters and scarves, translating creative concepts into precise, production-ready technical specification packages and 3D CAD models
  • Define construction, hardware specifications, fit, tolerance and materials for every accessory, and take full ownership of prototype and construction reviews
  • Conduct material and benchmark research, trend forecasting and consumer behaviour research to drive continuous improvement with trend-aware, forward-thinking solutions
  • Safeguard Gisou's quality standards and brand identity, working with Merchandising, Brand Marketing and Product Development to meet seasonal timelines and margin goals
  • Provide technical guidance and quality expectations to external suppliers and manufacturers during development and production
  • Manage seasonal collection concepts, technical specifications and supplier and costing information that is commercially sensitive ahead of launch
  • Weigh material sourcing, durability and supplier practices as part of benchmark research and construction decisions, in line with Gisou's sustainability commitments
  • Manage cross-functional expectations under seasonal deadlines, balancing creative ambition against margin, quality and production constraints
  • Handle prototypes, samples and materials hands-on during construction and quality reviews, with possible travel to suppliers or manufacturers
03 — What you'll bring

What you'll bring

  • Deep working knowledge of accessories design and development across soft goods (bags, hair accessories, knitwear, scarves) and hard goods (hardware, trims), typically built over 3-4 years in fashion or beauty
  • Ease working with the Creative Lead and cross-functional partners in Merchandising, Brand Marketing and Product Development, translating creative direction into technical requirements and communicating construction, fit and feasibility trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Skill at resolving technical construction and materials challenges by bridging soft-goods technical design with hard-goods industrial engineering, balancing function, ergonomics, aesthetic intent and durability, with good judgment on when to flag feasibility, quality or cost risks
  • Ability to plan and sequence technical development across multiple accessory categories and seasonal collections in parallel, to timelines set jointly with Merchandising and Product Development
  • Hands-on evaluation of materials, hardware and construction quality, with a sharp sense of touch, fit and finish against Gisou's tactile and aesthetic standards
  • Strong design judgment for translating seasonal creative concepts into buildable, brand-cohesive products; graphic design and packaging design experience a plus
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling (e.g. Rhino) to build accurate models, photorealistic renders and technical turnarounds for hard accessories, bag hardware and trims; Figma and Adobe Creative Suite experience a plus
