B Corp Certification: definition

A certification awarded by B Lab to companies that meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

B Corp Certification is awarded by the non-profit B Lab to businesses that demonstrate high standards across five impact areas: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. To become certified, companies must score at least 80 points on the B Impact Assessment, meet legal accountability requirements, and recertify every three years. In sustainable fashion, B Corp status is widely regarded as one of the most credible third-party endorsements of genuine ethical and environmental commitment. European fashion brands with B Corp certification include Patagonia, Veja, Allbirds, and Finisterre, among many others.
