As Designer, you develop the seasonal collections from concept to finished garment. You research trends, choose fabrics and materials, build prototypes with the development team and refine samples until every piece carries the brand identity. With production largely in Europe and a preference for high-quality fabrics, the role sits at the heart of a label sold in more than 600 stores across Europe.
What you'll do
- Design original, creative garments for seasonal collections, with attention to trends, materials and brand identity
- Research fashion trends, colors, fabrics and new techniques and apply them to collection development
- Select fabrics, accessories and colors that fit the design direction and stay within budgets
- Collaborate with the development team on prototypes and ensure designs translate accurately into physical garments
- Produce technical drawings and specifications for fit technicians and development
- Review samples and prototypes, give feedback and make adjustments
- Explore new techniques, silhouettes, fabrics and details
- Present designs and collections to internal teams and, where relevant, external stakeholders
- Save designs and files on the server carefully and in line with the correct procedures
What you'll bring
- A completed HBO degree in Fashion Design or a similar field
- At least three years of relevant work experience in the fashion industry
- Availability of 32 to 38 hours per week
- A strong sense of trends, color, material and silhouette
- A creative and commercial eye, able to translate concepts into wearable collections
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator and technical drawings
- Accuracy and an eye for detail
- A proactive, independent character and a real go-getter mentality
- Good planning and organisational skills, able to manage multiple projects at once
- A collaborative nature and ease in communicating with different teams
- Flexibility, since no day is the same
- A good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written
