KRAKATAU is looking for a hands-on Designer Assistant to support the Creative Director and the design team across the full product development process. The role moves from research and sketching through to production-ready files, fittings, and photoshoots.
They need someone organized, reliable, productive, and precise, who structures information and keeps files and processes in order. They also need someone creative, visually strong, curious, and aligned with the KRAKATAU aesthetic and values.

What you'll do
- Conduct design, product, market, competitor, and technical research; research materials, fabrics, trims, technologies, and functional solutions
- Collect and organize visual references and research results
- Prepare colour options, palettes, and branding options alongside fabric and trim research
- Create sketches and working drawings from briefs, references, and initial ideas
- Develop variations of design concepts and adjust existing styles
- Prepare front and back views and construction details
- Select and visualize colours, fabrics, trims, branding, and details
- Develop prints and graphics for garments, working with typography, logos, symbols, and graphic elements
- Prepare placement, scale, colour, and all-over print options
- Prepare production-ready graphic files
- Create visualizations of products under development, covering materials, graphics, and colourways
- Prepare information and materials for pattern makers and the development team
- Document construction details, trims, branding, references, and approved changes
- Maintain Full Info, collection matrix, and style number accuracy
- Maintain design, branding, construction, fabric, and trims libraries; organize swatches, colour cards, samples, and digital archives
- Participate in fittings and prepare correction documentation
- Support photoshoot preparation, including sample and look lists
- Help assemble looks, support model fittings, and assist the Creative Director and team during shoots
What you'll bring
- Confident command of vector and raster graphics
- Ability to create clean technical and design drawings
- Ability to prepare production-ready files
- Strong file organization and information management
- Fashion design education or related experience
- Good understanding of garment construction and product development
- Strong visual judgement and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and follow briefs precisely
- Ability to work efficiently across creative, technical, and organizational tasks
- An organized, reliable, productive, and precise working style
- Creativity and visual strength, aligned with the KRAKATAU aesthetic and values
