The Design Assistant plays a key supporting role within the design team, working closely with the Senior All-round Designer on the creation and development of Main Trend, Core, and Resort/Holiday collections. This role is ideal for a creative and detail-oriented individual who is eager to grow within a fast-paced, internationally recognised fashion brand. The focus is on translating concepts into clear, trend-right, and commercially relevant designs that authentically reflect the Daily Paper DNA.
What you'll do
- Personal Development
- Support the Senior All-round Designer in designing and delivering assigned collections
- Conduct seasonal research and trend analysis to bring innovation to each collection
- Present design work internally and contribute actively to team discussions
- Bring a hands-on, proactive attitude and a genuine eagerness to learn and grow within the design team
- Demonstrate high commitment and an open-minded approach to feedback and collaboration
- Design and Research
- Assist in concept and trend research in collaboration with the Art Direction team
- Prepare trend and material overviews for Menswear, covering fabrics, colours, trims, and details
- Support the development of innovative and commercial Trend and Core collections under the guidance of the Head of Design
- Help create new silhouettes aligned with the brand vision and design strategy
- Contribute to innovation in materials and techniques within production possibilities
- Collection Development
- Assist in creating and updating tech packs within set deadlines
- Check all files for accuracy before submission
- Attend fittings when required and record comments for improvements
- Update tech packs based on fitting feedback and ensure all files are complete before final review
What you'll bring
- Degree in Fashion Design or a related field
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, including the ability to create technical drawings
- Knowledge of garment construction
- Ability to create tech packs with guidance
- Exceptional creativity and a strong sense of innovation
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- A portfolio demonstrating design skills and creative range
