Fabric & Trim Development Manager (6 Month Fixed Term Contract)
About the role
Overview
Erdem is seeking a Fabric & Trim Development Manager to lead the end-to-end sourcing and development process for fabrics and trims across seven annual collections. This studio-based role requires a collaborative professional who will work closely with the Creative Director and Design Team to drive innovation and sustainability in material selection.
Responsibilities
Source and develop fabrics, embroideries, and trims for all collections according to creative briefs
Introduce new suppliers and innovative materials to the creative team
Maintain daily communication with raw material suppliers to ensure development meets requirements
Engage in sustainable raw material practices, prioritizing sustainable yarns and techniques
Manage Fabric & Trim Development Coordinator and Assistant, ensuring prioritized workloads and efficient execution
Manage raw materials for bespoke projects, press sample duplicates, and seasonal development
Collaborate with technical team and atelier to ensure fabric quality and performance
Manage fabric and trim development budget, tracking costs and liaising with finance team
Maintain comprehensive fabric logs, archives, and seasonal documentation
Requirements
8+ years of experience in European fabric sourcing
Extensive knowledge of fabric and trim development in the luxury market
Strong costing, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Understanding of sustainable practices and alternatives
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Proficient in MS Office and Zedonk/PLM/PDM software
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
