Fabric & Trim Development Manager (6 Month Fixed Term Contract)

About the role

Overview

Erdem is seeking a Fabric & Trim Development Manager to lead the end-to-end sourcing and development process for fabrics and trims across seven annual collections. This studio-based role requires a collaborative professional who will work closely with the Creative Director and Design Team to drive innovation and sustainability in material selection.

Responsibilities

  • Source and develop fabrics, embroideries, and trims for all collections according to creative briefs

  • Introduce new suppliers and innovative materials to the creative team

  • Maintain daily communication with raw material suppliers to ensure development meets requirements

  • Engage in sustainable raw material practices, prioritizing sustainable yarns and techniques

  • Manage Fabric & Trim Development Coordinator and Assistant, ensuring prioritized workloads and efficient execution

  • Manage raw materials for bespoke projects, press sample duplicates, and seasonal development

  • Collaborate with technical team and atelier to ensure fabric quality and performance

  • Manage fabric and trim development budget, tracking costs and liaising with finance team

  • Maintain comprehensive fabric logs, archives, and seasonal documentation

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in European fabric sourcing

  • Extensive knowledge of fabric and trim development in the luxury market

  • Strong costing, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Understanding of sustainable practices and alternatives

  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

  • Proficient in MS Office and Zedonk/PLM/PDM software

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
