Iris van Herpen is looking for a Head of Atelier to lead the creation of its annual Haute Couture collection and every bespoke client order. The role sits where creative vision meets technical mastery, translating the Maison's most ambitious designs into garments that hold up under the closest scrutiny.
You'll oversee construction from concept to completion, manage sample development and made-to-measure orders, and act as the client's main point of contact through customization and fittings. It calls for someone equally at home with a couture pattern and a laser-cut file, working closely with Iris, her artisans, and petites mains to see every piece through to delivery.
What you'll do
- Lead the annual Haute Couture collection from concept to completion
- Plan and supervise the construction of each garment to the highest standard of craftsmanship and innovation
- Oversee sample development and bespoke client orders, ensuring impeccable fit and execution
- Act as the main client contact for design customization and fittings
- Manage budgeting and costing for client orders to stay within target
- Create and adapt made-to-measure patterns using expert patternmaking skills
- Oversee the placement of laser-cut files in garment patterns using Adobe Illustrator
- Collaborate with Iris, artisans, and petites mains to keep communication fluid and deliveries on time
What you'll bring
- Extensive experience in Haute Couture and bridal, with proven leadership managing an atelier
- Deep knowledge of couture construction, patternmaking, and advanced garment techniques
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, particularly for laser-cut pattern integration
- Exceptional organizational and managerial skills across complex projects and timelines
- Strong communication skills, with a client-focused approach and attention to detail
- Passion for innovation and experimentation, with a commitment to pushing couture artistry forward
